The Founding Partners
Adam and Jackie Gumula are the founding partners of the Gumula Homes Team at Kazantzis Real Estate. Both grew up in Northeastern Connecticut, and after years of living in five different states together, they came back to raise their young daughter in the place that has always felt like home: stone walls, back roads, and neighbors who you trust like family.
They planned to build new. Then they started looking at old homes, walked into a 219-year-old farmhouse on eight acres, and that was the end of the new build. Today they’re restoring it room by room, mostly with their own hands. Adam rebuilt the rotted kitchen subfloor without losing the original built-ins, and the dining room is next, pending an ongoing household debate about tile versus wide plank. They don’t think of themselves as owners so much as stewards, taking care of a house that was here long before them and will be here long after.
That shows up in their work. Living in an old house teaches you what an inspector is likely to flag, which repairs matter before you list and which don’t, and how to help buyers see character instead of a project.
Dynamic Partnership
Adam is a top-producing agent and the team’s lead negotiator. He knows how to read the other side of a deal, when to push, and when to hold, and he consistently gets his clients terms they didn’t think were possible. He’s also the agent who shows up with tools. Before a listing goes live, Adam often handles the small fixes himself so sellers don’t have to. He has even rebuilt a client’s deck.
Jackie spent six years as a corporate Consumer Insights Researcher, studying how people make decisions and what gets them to act. After becoming a mom, she left corporate to build a life with more freedom and more presence. Now she brings that research to pricing, positioning, and marketing, starting every listing with the same question: who is the buyer, and what will make them stop?
They work every listing together. There’s no “his” or “hers,” just “ours” and a commitment to giving every client the best of both of them.
Core Philosophy
Adam and Jackie built the Gumula Homes Team around what they wanted when they were the clients: someone who tells you the truth, explains every step, and is still around after closing. The goal is to be the team people trust and recommend to their neighbors.
